One of the most abused and neglected organ in our body is our skin. And I’m sure many will agree with me on it. And if you don’t know, here are some facts that you must learn. Our skin is the largest organ in our body, it weighs about six pounds and it regenerates itself about once every 27 days. So with that in mind, I hope you start thinking twice every time you go out under the sun without protecting it.
So here are some suggested tips for your skin that I read from the Cleveland Clinic:
- Drink plenty of water each day.
- Clean your face twice a day and make sure to remove all makeup at night.
- Eat a healthy, balanced and nutritious diet.
- Use a toner to help clean your face to remove the dirt missed by washing.
- Always moisturize even if you have oily skin.
And so start changing your lifestyle now bearing in mind the tips mentioned above before you suffer a devastating effect of your recklessness and perhaps with some ignorance of the facts. At the same time, don’t be fooled of the clouds covering the sky above you as UV rays can still penetrate into it.

It is very easy to find yourself neglecting your skin, or certain areas of it over time but it is important to remember just how vital skincare can be to maintaining a healthy body. After all, you skin is the largest organ of the body and it does a huge amount to keep the rest of you in good working order.
But busy lives can lead us to start cutting corners or into the trap of not looking after our skin effectively. It is very easy to find yourself in the position of only really worrying about the areas of skin that are most exposed to the elements and to the world. And while it is normal to pay the most attention to keeping your face clean and healthy, it is important not to neglect the rest of your body in the process.
When it comes to looking after your face, you want to think about the type of skin that you have and then about finding the right skincare product to keep you at your best. So if you have dry skin then you want to pick up a quality moisturizer and apply regularly. While if you are suffering with oily skin then you should consider more regular use of a full face cleanser. Or if you have generally dry skin but with areas of oiliness then there are astringent products designed to treat those areas but you’ll still want to regularly moisturise the rest of your face.
But while our faces are always likely to be at the centre of our skincare considerations, it really is very important to remember to look after the rest of your body as well. So using natural soaps, body care washes and bath creams can make a world of difference to the health and vitality of our skin. Exfoliating regularly can be crucial as well and it is all about looking after your skin so it can look after you.
