I am not the person who is against to whatever kind of change there is so as long as it won’t jeopardize something else. People always want to go with the flow especially in the modernization of anything there is. What really tickles my nerves is when people do or change something for aesthetic purposes and never consider the safety side of it.
A few days back, I noticed that there’s something new at the entrance of this dining facility. I then realized that they have removed the sliding door and replaced it with a rotating door. This is what I am talking earlier, changing something that compromised the safety. I love seeing a rotating door as it is nice to look at but having it in a dining facility with only one opening in going inside and coming out, just bothers me so much.
Now let me ask you this. What will happen to this situation when there’s fire inside the dining facility? More so that it is the main entrance or main door of the dining area. Wouldn’t it become a potential stampede area knowing how small the opening is?
Although there are other doors (I don’t know how many) for fire exit purposes yet there’s no way that you’re going to make the main entrance like this. I cannot or won’t expect people to behave and be calm when there is fire inside the building. What I oftentimes observed is that people will immediately run towards the entrance. Then imagine a big crowd moving in the same direction, at the same time towards a door with a single opening.
It is then up to you to decide whether I am wrong or not with what I’ve seen for I don’t want to have some sort of debate like the Colorado marijuana legalization.. Just always remember to check where the fire exits are every time you enter a building or when you are inside a room. Then make sure also that the fire exits are in the opposite way of where you pass in entering the building.
